Rajat Arora, Chief Operating Officer, Spectra speaks with Zia Askari from TelecomDrive.com about the company’s current focus and its future plans.
What are some of the big priorities for Spectra today?
Our aim currently is to ensure continuous development, improvement, and customer satisfaction. We are also aiming to reach businesses far and wide and support them with our network as a service solution. We are focusing on reaching a larger audience across various sectors while also expanding to more locations. Our priority also is to expand our offerings for which we are already venturing into offering AI/ML-based video analytics for many use cases across industries. We are looking to deploy more solutions around networks, AI/ML, and the cloud in the next 3 quarters.
How are infrastructure and networks becoming the lifeline for organizations?
Stable and secure network infrastructure can connect employees from anywhere and work wonders on the levels of productivity and efficiency at organizations, enhancing the overall experience. Research has also shown that the Network as a Service Market size is expected to grow from USD 10.4 billion in 2021 to USD 37.5 billion by 2026, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 29.4%. Furthermore, the pandemic exponentially increased the use of global data consumption and established internet access as an essential rather than a luxury. The global data consumption is set to rise at a CAGR of 26% to reach 8.1mn PB by 2026 with video taking up the largest share in the content consumption category.
In the new normal, organizations lean on secure network infrastructure for all aspects of their daily operations or even client acquisitions, retaining current clients, and so on. Network infrastructure benefits organizations in various ways ranging from efficient time management, the opportunity to scale businesses, connecting from remote locations, and ensuring security and protection from online threats. At Spectra we ensure we offer our clients dedicated bandwidth, zero downtimes, and reduced costs through our end-to-end managed network services.
Has this changed post lockdown and how?
Post the lockdown, we have witnessed infrastructure become more resilient across multiple dimensions in the face of various threats and risks. Sturdy network infrastructure has become key for organizations of all sizes to function and meet their business needs. At Spectra we have supported organizations to successfully reduce their total cost of ownership by 30% and improve overall customer loyalty with the support of network infrastructure. Whether it is to perform daily operations or connect with a crucial client across the globe, organizations depend on a network infrastructure to drive overall operational efficiency and the pandemic has emphasized its importance even further.
Post lockdown there are specific customer segments i.e. Retail, Logistics, Education & Shared Services including hospitality have seen significant traction in line with a lot of business revival across tier 1 & 2 cities.
Why is it important for a company’s digital transformation to be experience-driven?
When it comes to providing network services to organizations, it is not simply about offering a WiFi connection but also ensuring a seamless user experience. It is key to consistently manage the digital offerings and services provided. When we associate with a customer, we ensure that we understand this and aim to consistently measure WiFi performance against benchmarks and expectations that have been set to ensure its smooth functioning. This in turn benefits the end users and ensures the timely resolution of challenges.
How is Spectra transforming experiences for customers across verticals?
At Spectra we are working with customers across various industries and offering them property-wide access to the internet via multiple access points and managed WiFi services. We work towards catering to the unique needs of our customers and ensure that we offer a smooth user experience. We have worked with brands in the hospitality sector such as Sarovar Portico to reduce their total cost of ownership by 30% and improve overall customer loyalty in the face of growing demand. This was done by introducing game-changing features such as timebound WiFi access for banquets and conferences, on-demand upgrades for special guest requests etc. In addition, we have also supported GoWork, India’s largest collaborative workspaces in Gurgaon to enable 400 customers with a secure and faster WiFi network and ensure 40% savings in the total cost of ownership. In the F&B sector, we have simplified Om Sweets' multi-site network using SD-WAN for always-on connectivity and thus enabling them to reach their business goals faster.
Do you think Network as a service is slowly becoming essential for organizations?
With individuals and organizations turning towards the pay-per-use subscription model more and more, it has left room for Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) to grow exponentially. Managed services which accounted for <10% of the incremental business for Spectra in 2018 have now moved to 30%, whereas the overall incremental revenue has increased by 2X.
